Dental implants are metal anchors that are surgically placed into the jaw to hold permanent replacement teeth, including crowns, bridges, and dentures. They allow for excellent long-term and conservative treatment with natural esthetics and function.

Tooth decay or trauma may cause a tooth's nerve to become irreversibly infected or damaged and result in pain and damage of the surrounding tissues. By removing the source of the infection and the nerve and cleaning and restoring the tooth properly, the tooth can be preserved, thus allowing normal looks and function. The only alternative would be to have the tooth extracted.
Cleanings:
Diseases of the gums & bone around the teeth (gingivitis & periodontitis) result in loose teeth, bleeding & infected gums, pain and bad breath. If not properly treated, these diseases will lead to tooth loss. Regular evaluations & cleanings are crucial to keeping your teeth looking & feeling their best. Heavy deposits around the teeth (as shown) & sore gums are obvious signs of progressive disease that need to be treated.
